Our Story

A family nickname became a tea company.

Long before YayaTeas had a name, “Yaya” was simply what my little sister called me. She was too young to pronounce my real name, so Yaya was what came out instead. The nickname stuck, became part of our family, and years later became the name of a tea brand built with family in mind.

Where it began

Before there was YayaTeas, there was just “Yaya.”

The name means something to us because it came from my sister. It was not created by a branding agency or chosen because it sounded trendy. It came from one of those small family moments that stays with you.

That made it feel natural for the company to grow from the same place: family, care, and a desire to make something we would feel good about bringing into our own home.

Why ingredients matter

Her experience with celiac disease changed how we look at food.

My sister has celiac disease, so labels are not just fine print to us. We know how much it matters to understand what is in a product, how it was made, and whether the information is clear enough to trust.

That experience shaped the kind of tea company we wanted to build. We want ingredient lists that are easy to understand, dietary details that are clearly stated, and products that do not hide behind vague language.

We are careful not to make blanket claims. Products that qualify as gluten-free or organic should be clearly identified on their product page, and customers with celiac disease or severe allergies should always review the current ingredient and sourcing information before ordering.

Gluten-conscious from the beginning

Because celiac disease is part of our family, we take gluten information seriously and want customers to have clear answers instead of assumptions.

Organic when possible

We prefer organic ingredients and thoughtful suppliers whenever it is practical because we want fewer unnecessary additives and more of the ingredients that actually belong in the blend.

Clear information

Ingredients, caffeine details, brewing directions, and dietary notes should be easy to find before a customer ever adds a pouch to their cart.

What we wanted to make

Tea that tastes like what it says on the pouch.

We wanted blends that feel premium without becoming complicated. Blackberry should taste like blackberry. Peach should taste like peach. The main flavor should stay at the center of the cup instead of getting buried beneath ingredients that do not need to be there.

That is why we are drawn to visible tea leaves, real fruit where possible, and recipes built around flavor instead of filler. We want customers to open a pouch, recognize what they see, and feel confident about what they are brewing.

Made with family in mind

The name came from family, and the standards behind the brand do too. We are building products we would feel comfortable serving to the people closest to us.

Premium without the attitude

Good tea can feel elevated while still being easy to brew, easy to understand, and easy to enjoy every day.

Small-batch attention

Smaller batches help us pay attention to freshness, consistency, aroma, and the way each blend actually looks in the pouch.

What comes next

We are still growing, and we want to grow the right way.

YayaTeas is still at the beginning. As we add new blends, suppliers, and collections, we want to keep moving toward more organic ingredients, clearer dietary information, and recipes that stay focused on real flavor.

The name reminds us where the company came from. YayaTeas started with my sister, with family, and with a desire to make something thoughtful. That is the standard we want to carry into every pouch.

Named by family. Made with family in mind.
